Beast of Burden screened at the Byrd Theatre last June to a large, enthusiastic audience, and has since begun to make it's way around the festival circuit. Most of the festivals will screen in 2008, but so far Beast has won the "DIRECTOR'S CHOICE award at the Secret City Film Festival in Oak Ridge, TN and picked up two 'Honorable Mentions' from the prestigious Accolade Competition; 'Short Film Independent' and "Leading Actor'.

'Beast' is produced under the banner of Story Teller Pictures (formerly Mark Joy Films), in association with STUDIO 108. Beast is the first in a collection of short stories on film" entitled 'THE TWELVE'. Each episode will be made available for retail and eventually download...and serve as a stand alone film short for festivals. Already, the Beast has opened doors for it's creators and we are now producing partners on a feature film starring Cuba Gooding Jr. which rolls Nov 1 in Louisiana...two more full length projects are in development and will shoot in Spring and Fall of 2008...THE BEAST IS ON THE MOVE!!

John Grisham wrote and co-produced an original screenplay entitled "MICKEY". Directed by Hugh Wilson, starring Harry Connick Jr. and co-starring Mark Joy, "MICKEY" demonstrates Grisham's passion for baseball and teaches our characters about integrity, fair play, and ultimately having to face the inescapable consequences of their actions. "MICKEY" received mixed reviews during it's limited Theatrical Release and is now available on DVD...but if you like baseball and a good Father/Son story every now and then, you'll enjoy this easy to watch independent...and so will your ballplayers...
